Celebrating Humanity World Red Cross Day

World Red Cross Day is celebrated every year on 8th May to mark the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant the founder of the Red Cross and the first recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. The day honors the humanitarian work and selfless services of Red Cross volunteers and staff across the world.
The main aim of the day is to promote the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement including humanity
impartiality neutrality and voluntary service. On this day
various activities like blood donation camps health check up drives awareness campaigns and relief programs are organized.
Each year the day is observed with a specific theme that highlights the importance of humanitarian efforts and care for people in need.
